Farming Simulator 25 Crops: Growing, Chaff and Straw
Wheat, barley, and oats are the most grown crops on Farming Simulator 25. Let’s talk about what you will need to cultivate each of these crops and what you can do with the remaining chaff and straw to maximize your revenue and save money!
To grow and maintain oats, barley, and wheat, you need a harvester with a grain header, seeder, and cultivator.
Oats
- What can the chaff be used for: oat straw is one of the best feed options for horses, but you can also use it for composting – just make sure to have a specific harvester that allows this option.
- What can the straw be used for: the oat straw can also be used for your animals’ bedding. Use it on your livestock farms, and this will act as one of the main elements of producing manure, which can later become your fertilizer.
Barley
- What can the chaff be used for? Barley chaff is a great feed source for your chickens and pigs. Barley gives the best yields of chaff, making it an excellent choice. Also, you can use it for composting, as long as you have the harvester with a suitable heading.
- What can the straw be used for: barley straw can be used to make your animals’ bedding, where it becomes the key element for producing manure, which then ends up becoming your fertilizer
Wheat
- What can the chaff be used for? Wheat chaff is a good feed option for chickens and pigs. It can also be turned into compost if you use a harvester with a specific header that allows this option.
- What can straw be used for? Wheat straw is used for animal bedding. Straw is one of the main elements required to produce manure, which is one of the best options for fertilizer.
