How and Where to Get Water in Farming Simulator 25

Water is perhaps the most important thing in farming, and of course, it’s incredibly important in Farming Simulator 25 as well. For both growing crops in greenhouses, raising livestock, and much more, you will need plenty of water to keep your farm going.

In this article, we will examine the process of sourcing water for your farm in Farming Simulator 25 in greater detail. This means finding the right sources, using suitable equipment, and storing and transporting water in the correct manner.

What equipment will you need?

Not much equipment is needed to get water. At the most basic level, you will need a tractor and any suitable water tank your tractor can handle and transport. There is no difference in brand, but you will need to ensure that the tank has a pump that can transfer water. Alternatively, you can transport your water using a truck. Some models already come with tanks. There are no “correct” options either—if the tank holds liquid and can transport it, it works fine.

However, we recommend choosing a tank that’s too big rather than one that’s too small. Your farm’s water needs will increase as you grow, and a smaller tank means many boring round trips. Another recommendation is to pick a tank with a forced discharge system so it can transport other liquids, not just water.

The required equipment can be found in the “Tools” — “Animals” section in the shop. We won’t give any specific recommendations, as most tanks will differ in size only. And of course, while choosing a tank, don’t forget your tractor. Water is heavy, so make sure your tractor can handle it.

Where do you get the water from?

Now, the second important question is sourcing—where to get water in FS25? Depending on your needs and location, there are plenty of options.

First up is the water tower. It’s fast, simple, and convenient, but sadly, it’s also quite expensive. For larger farms operating just within the margins, sourcing water from towers is not the smartest choice, especially considering that there are plenty of ways to get water completely free of charge.

Of course, you will need to find a body of water. It’s on your farm, and you can use it exactly as you wish! This free source is excellent for watering crops and giving to animals.

Here is how you get free water on Farming Simulator 25:

  1. Hop into your tractor. Drive it to your water tank, and press Q to attach.
  2. Open the map and find the nearest water source. Anything like a lake, river, pond, or even a large puddle will do.
  3. Reverse to get the tank as close to the water as possible. Don’t drive into it!
  4. Look for the prompt on the screen, offering to press the key and fill the tank with water. Press the button.
  5. Wait for the filling-up process, and head back to your farm.

Yes, this is as simple as that. You don’t need to spend money to get water if there’s plenty of water on your farm. Also, on some maps, you might even be able to find completely free water towers, but that will depend on the map you are using.

Hopefully, this was helpful. This is how you get water in Farming Simulator 25, which helps you grow crops and raise your animals.
